How to update completed shipments in Cargobase?
Cargobase gives logistics service providers (Provider) the ability to update shipments tracking manually through Tracking page or via integration.
Once a shipment is completed, the Provider ends the tracking process by submitting a Proof of Delivery (POD) in Cargobase. Shipments updated with a POD are marked with the 'Delivered' status.
- To submit a POD, click on the Submit proof of pick up/delivery button at the top right corner of your screen:
When submitting the proof of delivery, the following information must be provided:
- The name of the acceptor or the person who received the shipment.
- The date and the time of receiving.
- The reason for the delay in delivery, if applicable.
Providers also have the option to attach proof of delivery files. You will have to check the box next to the files you would like to upload and click the Upload file button.
Simply click on the Confirm button to securely share this information with the Shipper.
Shipments that have been updated with a Proof of Delivery (POD) will be designated with the status of 'Delivered'.
The POD submission must be completed to submit a freight invoice (unless Shipper allows your team to submit an invoice during transit).
If the shipment is picked up and delivered on the same day, you may submit Proof of Pickup (POP) and Proof of Delivery (POD) at the same time by selecting Pick up and Delivery.
When a Proof of Delivery (POD) is submitted by Provider, Shipper and Provider will receive a notification from Cargobase if the notification setting for POD is enabled.
