How to submit a quote?

Submitting a quote in Cargobase is simple and user-friendly. This article explains the steps you need to follow to submit a quote successfully.

Submit a Quote

  1. Access the quote request you want to submit a quote for by searching under Pending Quotations or by entering the shipment number in the universal search.

  2. Click Submit on the upper-right part of the screen.


  3. You need to input information along five steps to submit the quote:

  1. Select the Freight Mode you want to quote for. The available options depend on the shipper’s request. Please select only one freight mode for each quotation submission.

    Important notes:

    • For NFO and Regular Air, the chargeable weight field is mandatory.

    • For Road Freight, the road freight type field is mandatory.

2. Costs

In this section, add the cost items related to the request. For each cost item, you can specify:

  • Measurement unit

  • Unit cost

  • Quantity

  • Applies to

  • Currency

You can add more rows for a detailed breakdown of Freight or Other Charges by clicking Add Charge.

Please note that the available measurement units may vary depending on the selected freight mode.

You can also include any excluded costs in the Not Included field.

3. Schedule

Provide a tentative schedule for handling the shipment, including:

  • Pickup date and time

  • Delivery date and time

Depending on the freight mode, you may also add detailed schedule information such as:

  • Flight schedules

  • Vessel information

If this information is not available, you can click the X button to remove it.

Quote validity

At the end of this section, enter the expiration date and time of your quote.

 

A warning message may appear if the validity ends earlier than the shipper’s requested pickup, delivery, or booking confirmation time. You may still proceed, as this is only a warning and does not block submission.

 

4. Miscellaneous

In some cases, you may be asked to reconfirm the services required by the shipper in this section.

Under Additional Information, you may:

  • Add a quote title,

  • Add comments related to your quote,

  • Upload attachments by clicking Add attachment.

5. Confirmation

Review the summary of your quotation before submitting it.

If you need to make changes, click any of the previous sections to update the details.

Once everything is correct, click Submit on the lower-right part of the screen. Your quotation will then be submitted successfully.


 

Where Can I View My Submitted Quotations?

Logistics service providers (LSPs) can easily access their submitted quotations in Cargobase.

To view your submitted quotations:

  1. Go to the Dashboard using the new Dashboard View.

  2. Locate the Shipments section under Booked.

  3. Click Booked to view all confirmed quotes.

Alternatively, you can use the Universal Search function to locate a specific quote.


Quote status

  • Booked – This means the quote has been confirmed, and no further changes can be made.

  • Alternatively, you can use the Universal Search function to locate a specific quote.

     

Status: Booked – This means the quote has been confirmed, and no further changes can be made.

 

  • If the quoting deadline is still open, you may submit additional quotations for the shipper’s consideration.

     

  • Once a quote has been booked, providers can no longer edit or add details. However, you may still communicate with the shipper through the Comments section under the Tracking tab.
