How to update data such as Users' Information, Pickup & Delivery Contacts or Addresses on the Cargobase platform in bulk?
Admin Settings
As an admin user, you have the ability to utilize the File Import Tool feature to efficiently create or edit your company settings in bulk. This includes managing stored users' information, contacts, and addresses.
1. Make sure you have access to 'File Import Tool' under the Admin Settings.
2. Under the Download Template section, you will find 'Select Data' which you can select a file template such as User, Address or Contact.
3. Once a template is selected, choose the type of action required under 'Select Action'. You can select Bulk Create or Bulk Edit action.
4. Click 'Download Template' to retrieve the excel file for completion. The file should look similar to the image below but the column titles may differ based on the templates selected. Complete the information required.
5. After completing the template, go back to the 'File Import Tool'. Look for File Import section on the right. Select 'Create New Import'.
6. Select a data type and the action to be performed via 'Select Data' and 'Select Action'.
7. Enter a file description and upload the file by clicking on 'Select File'.
8. Click 'Create' to upload the file.
9. An Import Details window will appear for your reference. It will show that the upload is processing. You can also check the status via the File Import History section.
You may find a few status of the file import action performed.
- Processing -> Upload in Progress
- Imported -> The uploaded data is imported successfully and is available on the platform.
- Upload Failed -> The data failed to upload and require a re-upload.
- Has Errors -> The data failed to upload due to errors found in the file.
- Incomplete -> Data that has the status 'Upload Failed' or 'Has Errors'.
If the status shows 'Upload Failed', you may re-upload the file again via the 'Reupload' button.
If the status shows 'Has Errors', download the error log file to check what went wrong.
Check the 'Error Column' and 'Error Message' to determine the error in the file and make the necessary changes.
Once the changes are made, upload the file again via 'Upload Revised File' button.
