Quote Expiration
Similar to when you create a quote request with an expiration date, a provider submits their quote with an expiration as well. This prevents the illusion of perpetual pricing on shipments. If providers are not responding to quotation requests due to short deadlines, it is recommended to ask the requesting plant to extend the quotation deadline. Providing additional time allows providers to thoroughly review the request and submit their quotations.
The quote I want to book has expired
When a provider's quote expires, you will not be able to book their quote. The 'Book' button is greyed out and shows the text "Quotation has expired". In the case of an approval request, the 'Approve' button gets greyed out similarly.
How do I request an extension?
When a provider's quote expires, you can ask the provider to extend the validation of their quotation by clicking 'Request quote extension'.
How does the provider confirm an extension?
Providers can confirm an extension for an expired quotation directly within the Cargobase interface. To do this, navigate to the quote view, click the three-dot action icon, and select the option to confirm the extension. This ensures that providers can quickly address expired quotations and maintain workflow continuity. However, the responsibility for validating or extending the quotation ultimately lies with the provider. Requesters are not required to take further action beyond initiating the request.
