There are times when a shipment has already been awarded or booked, but later becomes unnecessary or needs to be assigned to a different provider. Unfortunately, due to the extensive workflow that is triggered when a shipment is awarded, we cannot simply 'change' the provider. Instead the shipment will have to be canceled an other providers need to submit a quote. To make this process as smooth as possible, we do provide the 'Cancel and rebook'-feature
Note: This action will only be visible if the shipment has been booked.
How to cancel and rebook with a new provider?
Locate the shipment you want to cancel in your shipment list.
On the 'Tracking' tab, click the Action button at the top-right corner of the shipment page, and select 'Cancel and book another provider'.
Once you choose the option to Cancel and book another provider, a confirmation message will appear.
If you wish to cancel and book with another provider, click “Yes, cancel and rebook” to proceed.
Once the booking is canceled, the system will duplicate the request right away creating a new ID.
You will be able to book on the new quotations after the providers have submitted new quotations.
Please be aware that if you are directed to the Quote Request draft page instead of having the request generated immediately, this may occur for several reasons, such as:
The deadline for submitting quotes for the initial request has passed.
Only one provider was invited to submit a quote in the initial request.
When you cancel and rebook a shipment, your provider might still charge you for the full shipment or at least a cancellation fee for the shipment you cancelled. Make sure you and your provider have clear agreements on how to handle these cancellations.
